D&D Older Editions / HOUSE RULES
Last post by NOD the Goblin - Nov 50 06 2024 PMAnyone who has been playing the game for any real amount of time I am sure have developed house rules, basically rules that you as the DM enforce when playing at your house. I am posting a few of mine below, and for those of you in here, please follow up and tell everyone some of yours.
Now there are some in game house rules that I like to implement. These are for the game itself.
So please list out some of your in game house rules and some of our general at the table ones you may have. Oh, and please if you disagree with mine please say so, and let me and everyone else know why you disagree with the rule.
- Dice that fall on the floor are re-rolled.
- All combat rolls by DM and players are done in the open.
- The DM is the final word. Yes you as a player can argue for "X", however in the end the DM has the final word.
- As the DM I supply the main dish (chili or soup etc). However at the end of the night / session everyone rolls a D20. Low roll brings the soda the next week for all. If ya cant as you are short of cash, no problem. I will make some koolaid and coffee.
- All saving throw rolls both PC and DM are in the open for all to see.
Now there are some in game house rules that I like to implement. These are for the game itself.
- When spell casting, rolling a 1 is a critical failure, and results in an explosion. Everyone within 10' of the PC casting the spell takes 1D4 damage.
- I do not use alignment, instead I have players roll once on a Quirk table to determine a unique character flaw or issue.
- When taking a healing potion the player rolls a D20 to see if it is "spoiled" if they roll a 1 it is indeed "off" so they will roll a D20 again. Rolling a 1 means it is spoiled and player takes 1d8 damage. Rolling a 20 means it is "fermented" and players get double the healing power.
- When falling greater than 10 feet, players must roll a custom table / save verses breaking. This is a simple 1D10 roll. 1 or 2 means you break one random potion or flask of oil.

Last post by NOD the Goblin - Nov 49 05 2024 AMHello my fellow members, I want to explain a bit on what you can do here and what we can do for you. First this space is for people to set up forum spaces for their players and game. If you want to set up a private game, we can do that for you.
What happens is we will create a forum for you, and you can invite members to it, and will control the access to it. So basically think of it like your own room and table. You basically will be the admin over that room and can run games etc in it.
Or, you can just make a game in this forum where you can run a normal play by post game.

I already can see a lot of great things happening in the next few years in this industry.

I have been playing RPG's since Christmas of 1977. I love other games like Risk, Axis and Allies and tabletop mass combat games such as Blitzkrieg. Along with D&D I love to play some electronic games such as SNES's Eye of the Beholder. I like to think of myself as a good cook that makes good BBQ, but I am an excellent brewer and I make an awesome apple stout and a to die for Lemoncello.
So please enjoy this site, if you want to see something special message me, or if something is bothering you message me. I want everyone's experience on here to be a fun one.

If you do not follow all the posting rules the review will be removed.
